Today I'm celebrating the second all female International Women's Day on Bay FM. With special guest contributors Megan from Vitality Vet Care, sharing what it was like training as a young veterinary surgeon in a male dominated farm industry. Also, Heidi Wedd, who is releasing her book "Wild Flower Walker", inspired by walking the Bibblulmun Track in Western Australia and re-connecting with nature on an inner and outer journey.
Other special guests are Jo Immig, who has spent many years as an advisor to the National Toxics Network group; a voluntary organisation providing scientific and specialist advice to government bodies and more regarding toxic chemical polution, And last but not least animal rights activist Cathy Blasonato, who is currently standing for the seat of Ballina representing the Animal Justice Party, who has also written a book about her rescue of a dog from Bhutan called "Shanti" and has been tirelessly working for the animals for many years, including spending time with international animal welfare group IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare), being a part of the Duck Rescue group, Bali Street Dogs and Soi Dog.
