What to plant in the garden this winter:
broad beans, beetroot, bok choy, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, corriander, celery, garlic, lettuce, mushrooms, onions, parsley, oeas, rocket, shallots, snow peas, english spinach.
FRENCH TOAST
ingredients: 4 eggs, 2TBS caster sugar, 1/2 cup milk, 1/2tsp vanilla, pinch of salt, 1 white cob loaf of bread, unslated butter for frying and maple syrup.
method: in a shallow bowl mix the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla and pinch of salt.
Heat a bit of butter in a pan over medium heat. dip the bread in the egg mixture for 30-60 seconds and soak it up and then put it in the pan and fry it till its golden brown and then flip it and brown the other side, about 1 minute per side. Serve with maple syrup or maybe some berries - don't forget the bacon.
