“We’ve recently had the mediscare campaign and then we’ve had the death tax, both of these were big campaigns that talked about policies that the other side just didn’t even have, they were straight out mistruths,” says ACT Greens member Caroline Le Couter. New laws are proposed in the ACT to clamp down on falsehoods in political advertising, we hear some analysis.
We also hear The Wangan and Jagalingou tribal elders are vow to resist development of Adani’s Carmichael coalmine in Central Queensland after state police force them off their traditional land.
“Some of the nature of the things we suspect is criminal, withholding evidence from the defence.
“We’ve picked up the five thousand pages, packed them into a suitcase and off we go to Geneva.
“We’re on the trail of bringing Julian home.”
As the rest of the world focuses on the pandemic, Wikileaks founder Julian Assange remains locked in Belsmarsh Prison in London, due to face another hearing in an extradition trial to the US very soon. But the movement to free Julian Assange continues, led by his father John Shipton.
We also catch up with Bay FM host of new Wednesday night LGBQTI show Not Thinking Straight, Michael Mac about Stonewall and the sixties; find out how anyone fishing can help in a reef restoration project; and Anny Reed brings us more news from outside the bubble.
